May 2017

ABG acquire the Yorkshire based IFA firm McGowan Associates Limited.


January 2017

ABG moves its Australian office to Perth and Dave Stone is appointed as its new Australian Director.


June 2016

ABG is proud to announce the launch of Alexander Beard (France) SAS, a French regulated wealth management and employee benefit business; a joint venture between French wealth management company KMH and Alexander Beard Group.


May 2015

ABG’s Investment Director, Andrew Moore, launches our first range of in house advisory investment portfolios.


December 2014

Andrew Moore joins ABG Board as Investment Director.


December 2014

L&P Directors, Andrew Moore and Peter Smith, become Partners in Alexander Beard Wealth LLP’s new London office.


December 2014

Alexander Beard Group completes the acquisition of Lepretre and Partners Ltd a city of London based wealth management and employee benefit advisery business.


November 2014

Holly Potts joins our International Benefits business as Client Relationship Manager.

Max Bogaard joins ABG Board.

Alexander Beard International Employee Benefits Division completes merger with Bogaard Pensioen Consultancy B.V. of the Netherlands; New combined business will trade as Alexander Beard International Benefits B.V.


May 2014

Mark James joins our Alexander Beard (USA) LLC  as  Principal Adviser - US/UK cross border services responsible for developing our business in Florida.


February 2014

The Directors of ABG are sad to announce the death of Phil Rooney, Director of our international employee benefits division.


August 2013

Anita Brennan appointed new Divisional Director - Operations & HR Division.


June 2013

ABG announces the opening of its 1st London office dedicated to its Media and Entertainment clients led by Guy Bolam, who joins the company as Divisional Director.


April 2013

Paul Rowland, Group Compliance Officer since 2012 retires.


March 2013

People In Aid, the London based international Charity and NGO organisation have endorsed ABG’s International Retirement Plan;  ABG’s Schools & Humanities Division to be the exclusive provider of retirement services to internationally based employees of their worldwide membership.


March 2013

Phil Rooney is appointed Divisional Director - International Employee Benefits Division.


January 2013

ABG complete the acquisition of Brian Stone IFA, a Lancashire based practice.


September 2012

Alexander Beard Group (South Africa) Pty Ltd. is authorised by the South African Financial Services Board (FSB).


August 2011

Mike Shakespeare becomes an Associate at Alexander Beard's Chester branch and his Bebington based advisory business is merged into our UK Financial Planning Division.


June 2011

ABG invited to present their International Retirement Savings Plan product to members of the Inside NGO Conference in Washington DC.


May 2011

Frank Randall, former Head of International Sales at Aegon Global Pensions, is appointed to the ABG Board as a Non Executive Director.


May 2011

Alexander Beard Group admitted to membership of the USA Council of Insurance agents and brokers (CIAB) Executive Chairman Paul Beard attends the CIAB Employee Benefit Leadership Forum in Colorado Springs.


September 2010

Alexander Beard's Head Office relocates to its new 5000 square foot buildings at 14-16 Rossmore Business Park.


August 2010

Alexander Beard (New Zealand) Limited opens for business. A joint venture owned 50% by Alexander Beard Group and 50% by Advice First one of New Zealand's premier firms of independent financial advisers. The business will be offering QROPS transfers for people emigrating to New Zealand, those who have already emigrated and have not yet taken their pensions from the UK as well as Trans-Tasman between Australia and New Zealand and a range of "back home" financial planning services for New Zealanders living overseas.


July 2010

Mark Hutchinson joins ABG to head up Sports, Music & Entertainment Division, bringing with him a client base of over 60 professional premier league and football league players.


February 2008

Acquired the international schools business of Junos Ltd., whose Directors Janet Jenkinson and Lesley Stevens join ABG International Schools Division as Marketing Director and Associate Director respectively.


January 2007

Sees the launch of ABG's International Employee Benefits Division (IEBD) based at our Head Office in Chester. IEBD will specialise in advising upon, implementing and managing employee benefit packages for groups of UK and EU based employees who work for International companies.


December 2006

Our Head Office relocates to new premises in Chester.


February 2006

Alexander Beard (Australia) Pty. Ltd. Launched in Sydney following the granting of our Australian Financial Services Licence.


December 2005

ABG's international division appoint Chris Curry (formerly MD of Inter-Alliance International's Middle East division) as International Development Director and opens ABG's new Middle East regional office in Cyprus.


August 2005

Granting of Regulatory Licence in America which launched our office in San Francisco and a range of services to British expats in the USA and American expats throughout the world.


August 2005

Acquired Midian Investments with sole rights to market the International Schools Retirement Plan, exclusively recommended by the Council of International Schools to its 33,000 strong membership.


April 2005

Independant Investment Services (IIS) of Birkenhead merge their business with ABG. IIS's founder, John Croasdale, rejoins ABG as Associate Director.


January 2004

Acquired the client base of Bridgewater Life & Pensions Ltd of Manchester.


September 2003

Acquired Stretton Life & Pensions, a Milton Keynes based IFA, opening our third office in the UK.


September 2002

Second international office opened in Douglas, Isle of Man, providing a range of offshore services to UK and expatriate clients with particular emphasis on the use of Trust for Inheritance Tax Planning and Asset Protection.


February 2002

Acquired Bankfield Financial Services, which was merged into our Leeds office. Principal Martin Shaw remains with the company.


January 1999

Acquired the business of HN Financial Group, a Leeds-based IFA specialising in managing the affairs of professional sports people.


January 1997

Acquired Norman K Ward & Partners, a Midlands-based IFA.


January 1995

First overseas office in South East Asia opened in Kuala Lumpur.


October 1987

Alexander Beard Group founded.
