Because the Netherlands has complex legislation surrounding pensions, we provide detailed guidance on the implementation of the most appropriate qualifying pension plan for your requirements. Dependants pensions are usually provided through a group pension scheme by way of additional inclusive life insurance.
Group Life Assurance (Group Death in Service)
Group life insurance provides an employee’s dependants with a tax free lump sum if they die whilst in employed service.
Group Income Protection (Disability)
Group income protection provides a percentage of the employee’s income if they are absent from work through long term illness or injury.
Short Term Disability (STD)
In The Netherlands employers have additional responsibilities regarding the first two years of Illness of an employee. Insurance solutions are available to cover possible costs and Health and Safety requirements .
Group Medical Insurance (Healthcare)
Dutch legislation requires anyone working or living in The Netherlands to take out private medical insurance.
An employer sponsored “collective” plan can offer premium discounts and larger group plans provide additional coverage. A basic insurance plan will cover GP consultation, hospital treatment and accommodation, Pharmacy, Childbirth and post maternity care as well as Mental health and Dental Health for children under the age of 18.
On top of the basic package, insurance companies offer diverse additional packages which offer coverage for health care not covered in the basic insurance; for example the first 20 treatments of physiotherapy or dental care.
Group Employee Assistance Program
This is available as a standalone product. Employee Assistance Programs can provide counselling and referral services for those faced with financial, emotional or legal issues.
