Quarterly Newsletter - May 2019 - Paul Beard Introduction

Welcome to our Spring edition.

I hope that you and your families enjoyed a great Easter break?

Many of you will be as incensed as I am that Brexit is still unresolved. The last thing you want to read here is yet another rehearsal of the arguments, so I will just say that isn’t reflecting well on our country or our current political leadership.

Here at ABG head office we have strengthened several parts of our business with new staff in various departments and I particularly welcome Glynn Bartley from Mattioli Woods, who joins to head up our Expat Services team.

My PA of 13 years, Paula Mckechnie, is taking a break from being my ‘right-hand‘ person, to move across and assist Glynn, as project coordinator for a high-profile project we have won from a global company, to advise their current and former employees on their UK pension scheme rights.

For reasons of confidentiality and Data Protection, I cannot name the client, but it’s is a household name in most parts of the globe and a real ‘feather-in-our-cap.

For this period of time Paula’s place will be taken by Katie Farmer, who joined my team at the beginning of April.

Lorna Davies has also joined us a Divisional Director for the UK arm of our international employee benefits business; she brings with her great experience in this field, from which I am sure our clients, and the business, will benefit from.

Finally, we always welcome your views on the newsletter’s content and any suggestions you may have for regular features or one-off subjects in the financial world.

Kind regards
