About Nigel
Nigel established his first financial advice business, Buckles, in 1987, growing it into a top 100 IFA before selling to Sanlam in 2008. He later became Sanlam UK’s head of distribution before joining Old Mutual in 2015 to launch a start-up within a FTSE 40 company. In four years, the business grew to £4 billion in client assets with 230 staff.
After retiring in 2018, followed this with a period of consulting with Quilter, and now acts as a consultant to several financial services companies.
A fun fact about Nigel
Nigel started his IFA firm Buckles in 1987, a week after Black Monday and Michael Fish made the biggest misforecast in history with his famous words: “Some people are saying there’s a hurricane on the way, don’t worry”.
